How Counter-Strike 2 to Rainbow Six Siege sensitivity conversion works

CS2’s m_yaw and Siege’s MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit are different configuration controls. The examples assume standard values in both games. If Siege’s multiplier was customized, restore the default or apply the correction explained in its guide.

At equal DPI, multiply your Counter-Strike 2 setting by 3.83972. To reverse the conversion, divide by that factor. The number changes because the two games interpret sensitivity units differently; the distance travelled by your mouse is the quantity being matched.

Target sens = source sens × 3.83972 × source DPI ÷ target DPI

For example, 1.5 in Counter-Strike 2 at 800 DPI becomes approximately 5.75958 in Rainbow Six Siege at 800 DPI. Both describe 34.64 cm for one complete horizontal turn before rounding. Keep the unrounded value in the tool if you plan to swap directions again.

    Rainbow Six Siege

    Exact
    cm/360
    1.5 / 8005.75958 / 80034.64
    1.5 / 8002.87979 / 160034.64
    1.875 / 8007.19948 / 80027.71

The first two rows keep the source setup fixed and change only the target DPI. The third changes source sensitivity. This separates a hardware-DPI change from an in-game sensitivity change, which is useful when comparing two saved configurations.

Settings to check in each game

    Counter-Strike 2

Settings > Keyboard / Mouse > Mouse Sensitivity (or the console command: sensitivity <value>)

Use the Mouse Sensitivity value or the sensitivity console command, with the standard horizontal scale. A custom m_yaw changes the relationship behind the table. The catalog retains the CS:GO scale, but a shared engine or similar menu name is not enough to assume that another game uses it: Deadlock is a notable counterexample.

    Rainbow Six Siege

Options > Controls > Mouse Sensitivity Horizontal

These examples assume MouseSensitivityMultiplierUnit=0.02. A downloaded config or an old personal tweak may change that value. For a target Siege result, multiply the default result by 0.02 divided by your custom multiplier. For a source Siege value, first normalize it by multiplying by your custom multiplier divided by 0.02.

FOV and ADS: why these games can still feel different

A full-turn match does not promise equal movement across the screen. A different field of view, aspect ratio or camera perspective can alter the apparent speed of a target. Compare the same physical mouse travel first, then decide whether a different visual feel needs a personal adjustment.

Counter-Strike 2 and Rainbow Six Siege also keep some aiming controls separate from their base horizontal setting. This tool does not calculate a monitor-distance match, a scoped multiplier, controller aim or vertical sensitivity. Apply the result to the named setting, then evaluate those other controls independently.

To verify the transfer, mark a starting point on the mousepad and move horizontally until the camera completes a turn. Repeat in both games with acceleration and game-specific modifiers accounted for. If space is limited, compare half-turns using half the reported cm/360 distance. Menu rounding can cause a small mismatch; a large mismatch calls for checking DPI, the input unit and game settings.

Counter-Strike 2 to Rainbow Six Siege FAQ

How do I convert Counter-Strike 2 sensitivity to Rainbow Six Siege?

At the same DPI, multiply your Counter-Strike 2 sensitivity by 3.83972. For two different DPIs, also multiply by source DPI divided by target DPI. This matches horizontal hipfire turn distance under the stated game settings.

What is 1.5 Counter-Strike 2 sensitivity in Rainbow Six Siege?

1.5 at 800 DPI converts to approximately 5.75958 Rainbow Six Siege sensitivity at 800 DPI, for 34.64 cm/360 before menu rounding. These are worked examples, not professional-player recommendations.

Does changing DPI change the result?

Yes. Enter the original DPI and New DPI separately. For linear scales, doubling the target DPI halves the target sensitivity. For an offset or non-linear slider, use the calculated result instead of halving the menu number.

Does this also convert FOV, ADS or scopes?

No. The tool matches horizontal hipfire rotation, not screen-space movement or zoom. FOV can still change perceived speed even when turn distance is equal. Check each game’s notes before adjusting a scope or a character-specific control.
